Goblin

Goblin's medical story has included more than one frightening chapter. As a kitten, she had respiratory infection. Later, she developed paralysis associated with FIP and began treatment in 2025. She also survived a near-drowning later that spring.

In March of 2025, Goblin became critically ill with neurological symptoms that eventually left her paralyzed.

Like Ratatouille before her, the cause was not identified immediately. She was misdiagnosed, continued to deteriorate, and came frighteningly close to being lost.

We suspected FIP.

By the time treatment began, Goblin could no longer use her legs normally. FIP can progress with terrifying speed, particularly when the nervous system is involved, and there was no guarantee that treating the disease would reverse the damage that had already occurred.

But Goblin had other plans.

With treatment, she began improving. Movement returned. Then came standing, walking, and eventually exploring again on her own four feet.

Her recovery has not made her graceful. Goblin still has a slightly wobbly walk that is uniquely hers, but it has certainly not slowed down her determination to investigate everything she shouldn't.

Today she moves independently around Artemis House, gets herself into trouble, and lives a remarkably normal cat life considering how close she once came to losing it.

Goblin may wobble.

She does not stop.

Today Goblin's story is not one of paralysis, but of recovery and resilience.
