Curious and confident, Nico has a natural leader’s presence. He’s friendly with people, loves being petted, and enjoys exploring his surroundings. He does best with room to roam and access to a safe, fenced outdoor space. (5-6 years old)

Nugget is affectionate, curious, and full of personality. By day she’s off seeking adventure and exploring; by night, she loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for cuddles. (2 years old)

Paloma
Beautiful and serene, Paloma is a quiet soul who is perfectly content keeping to herself. She loves long naps, a peaceful place to relax, and doesn’t ask for much beyond a comfortable home to call her own. (4 years old)

Sweet, confident, and playful, Sebastien loves people and makes a point of coming over every day for pets and affection. He’s a friendly young cat who’s always happy to see you. (1 year old)

Yogurt may be a little shy at first, but once she trusts you, her sweet and affectionate side comes shining through. She loves pets, food, and happily bouncing around when she’s excited. (3 years old)
Pancake
Once deemed “unadoptable,” Pancake has flourished at the sanctuary into a wonderfully affectionate cat. He comes right over for caresses, gets along beautifully with other cats, and loves greeting them with enthusiastic head-butts—even when they don’t always appreciate it. (3 years old)
Queen
Our fluffy little bobtail is gentle, sweet, and wonderfully calm. Queen loves being petted and soaking up affection, but she’s also very independent and perfectly happy doing her own thing. (2-3 years old)
Big, strong, and striking, Thor looks every bit like a little polar bear—but underneath it all, he’s a complete cuddlebug. He loves being held in your arms and showered with affection, and while he’s happy keeping to himself, he’d usually rather be curled up with you. (3 years old)

Sweet, playful, and independent. Hannah loves the outdoors, hunting, and cuddles, but prefers to be the only cat in the household. (2 years old)
Bombay Jack
Bombay Jack has had a lot of change in a short time, so he needs someone patient who will give him time to feel secure. Once he trusts you, he can be wonderfully affectionate and especially loves gentle pets on the back of his head. More than anything, he seems to want a person he can bond with and truly call his own. Milo
Milo arrived completely feral and wouldn’t let anyone touch him. Now he’s a total cuddle bunny—affectionate, playful, great with other cats, and clearly very happy with the life he’s found. (1 year old)

Adopt a cat
Sometimes the right cat is the one you meet in person.
Many of the cats at Artemis House are affectionate, social, and good candidates for adoption. Others are loving with familiar caregivers but may be cautious around strangers and need more time to build trust. Some are semi-feral or deeply bonded to the sanctuary environment and may remain here for life.
For cats who are available, we look for homes that can offer the kind of life they are already accustomed to: space, safety, and secure access to the outdoors. Our cats are not placed in homes where they will be allowed to roam freely outdoors. Adopters must be able to provide a cat-safe enclosed yard, catio, or similarly secure outdoor space.
Because personality and trust matter so much, we prefer potential adopters to visit Artemis House and spend time with the cats rather than choose solely from a photograph.
